Drake drops a new track titled “Girls Love Beyonce”. Though you would think he talks about Beyonce all up in the track but he doesn’t. He name drops her in the very beginning of the track and thats it. He snags singer James FauntLeroy for the hook singing his version of Destiny’s Child “Say My Name”.
Kendrick Lamar premieres the video for his latest single off his Good Kid Maad City album “Poetic Justice”. Kendrick decides to do it different and go opposite of the industry norms and includes a beautiful brownskinned girl in the video. He breaks it down to Miss Info on why he made the decision to chose the leading lady by the name of Brittany Sky who actually went to school in NY and got her masters from St. John’s University looking to open up her own online boutique.
We had another girl for the lead but I had an idea where I just wanted a little bit of a darker tone [girl] in the video. It’s almost like a color blind industry where there’s only one type of appeal to the camera. It was a girl on set and I said, ‘Ask her.’
I give [Brittany Sky] the credit, too, for just being there, and being a natural, genuine young lady. She wasn’t all in the open, trying to jump in [front] of the camera. She was cool, just chilling. I always kept in the back of my mind like ‘you don’t ever see this tone of a woman in videos. No disrespect, I love all women, period. But at the same time, I still feels like it needs that balance.
I know I am a day late, but hey it’s only one day. Drake premieres the video from his latest single off his upcoming album “Octobers Very Own” titled Started From The Bottom. Drake turns a 2:50min track into a 5 min video with comedy and keeps it simple with lots of fun in the video with his friends. He also has mom dukes in the video as well.
October’s very own Drake blessed his fans as he released a new track just a few hours ago. The track is titled “Started From The Bottom” which will be featured off his forthcoming album. On Drake’s blog he released this note below:
My good friends,It has truly been too long. I assume you’re all keeping well and making the most of this year that has been given to us. Today is the day to begin sharing my newest work with you. This is the first single off of my upcoming album. I feel sometimes that people don’t have enough information about my beginnings and therefore they make up a life story for me that isn’t consistent with actual events. My family and my second family (consisting of the best friends anybody could ever have) all struggled and worked extremely hard to make all this happen. I did not buy my way into this spot and it was the furthest thing from easy to achieve. I am proud of every part of my past and I’m excited for this song to find a place in your life as well. I didn’t feel I needed any interviews or radio or press to launch this song. It felt right to come back to the site that I started on and release it to the people that started here with me. Judging by this post, the tour that we’ve been planning, the conversations about new songs and album artwork… I think it’s safe to say we’re back together again. Looking forward to seeing you all soon.
Lil Wayne once told Drake to NEVER get any tats and to keep a clean cut image….. I guess that all went out the window about two years ago. Drake captures the moment as he adds a few additions to his already tatted back of an owl, Aaliyah and something else I can seem to figure out. He adds his late grandmother (died on Thanksgiving 2012) and uncle (died July 2011) on his back as a remembrance that though they are gone, they will always have his back in spirit. If you also remember in the latest album from Drake, he talks about his uncle and has a voice clip of his grandmother talking to him as “Aubrey” on the track titled “Look What You’ve Done”.
Kendrick Lamar does the remix just that “justice”. He samples Janet Jackson’s hit track Poetric Justice soundtrack off of the same titled movie back in the 90′s. I actually like this song, I can ride with this track. Poetic Justic will be featured on his debut LP titled “Good kid, m.A.A.d. city”
Rick Ross releases the video for the smooth popular track Diced Pineapples. The track is featuring Drake and Wale who are also seen in the video and the three take their talents out to the beautiful island of Anguilla. Check it out above.
Well Drake said he always wanted to do music with Aaliyah and was considering to even produce and drop an album posthumous by her. Well here is a taste of how it would be with Drake and Aaliyah on the track. It is called Enough Said that Drake posted for his fans on his blog. Check it out, I kind of like it.
If you don’t know already, now you know. Apparently those twitter beefs between Drake, Chris Brown, and Meek Mills a few weeks ago has escalated and it went down last night in NYC at Greenhouse Nightclub. Teyana Taylor threw a party there to celebrate her signing to G.O.O.D Music when all hell broke lose between Drake and Chris. Other people in attendance were Trey Songz, Meek Mills, Wale, and Karreuche.
Allegedly Drake and his entourage threw a bottle at Chris Brown and his team where Chris Brown was hit in the chin and received a gash. Also news reports that one of Chris bodyguard was hit in the head and thats when the full our brawl took place.
Meek Mills was quick to tweet it wasn;t him to make sure it was known he wasn’t involved and Karreuche even tweeted “wreckless love I tell you”.
Check out some pics from the aftermath as well as what Chris Brown had to say about the altercation.
