Drakes concert in Sea Port was cancelled due to fans rioting before the concert even started. SMH you try to do something nice and this is what happens.
A few minutes later from the top balcony we saw people throwing bottles we all found out later that they were potted flowers chairs and glass bottles also thrown from by people the balcony above Uno Pizza
Jay-Z has been on tour for a while and even hit up the Isle of Wright Music Festival where he brought out surprise guest Kanye West for Run This Town. The crowd went ballistic as he approached the stage. What a nice welcome back, from his long hiatus after the whole Taylor Swift incident. Speaking on Kanye, he is reported to be performing at this years BET Awards as well as T.I., I am surely looking forward to that.
Watching this video, clip it look like thousands and thousands of people in the audience as Jay-z rocked the crowd. I wonder if Bey was there? I know she’s been supporting him at all his show including the 2010 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival’ in Manchester, Tennessee. See pics below of Bey getting a lil tipsy and enjoying the show.
Today many gathered in Manhattan for the Puerto Rican Day Parade. Celebs such as Diddy, Fab, Busta, Nicki Minaj, Cassie, and others were on the Hot 97 float. Hot 97 also caught footage of the parade.
R&B artist Monica, tour down the house last night when she sang the national anthem for Game 3 of the NBA Finals. Although I HATED how the night ended with the Lakers winning, Celtics will get it back. Anyways Monica did a great job.
Lil Kim stirring up trouble…recently I posted when a youtube video of Kim bringing Keys on stage during her performance at Sonar to perform her Nicki Minaj diss to “Itty Bitty Piggy”, well after the performance Kim and Keys sat backstage and did an interview. Basically Keys was saying she understands where Kim is coming from and that Nicki should pay homage, and Kim agreed. To me it just sounds like a broken record.
We finally have the photo shoot pictures from Rihanna in the Elle magazine. She looks amazing, and thanks to Rihanna Daily I got some background footage, and also some quotes from the interview that Rihanna did with the magazine.
On the album art for Rated R: “I wanted pictures that represented strength and fearlessness but still femininity—a strong woman who can be vulnerable. Every woman is made up of vulnerability and strength; no matter what race you are, no matter what you’ve been through in your life. Every woman has that strength that is undeniable, but we also have really big hearts. It’s just us.”
On her new beau: “I have a boyfriend. I’m so happy. I feel really comfortable, and it’s so easy. I have such a chaotic life, but at the end of the day, that is just my peace. It keeps me sane, really, talking to him and talking to my family.”
On designers she admires: “It’s clear there are definitely fewer black women in the high-fashion industry. One of the things I respected most about Gucci was that they did a print campaign with me. I’m a black girl on a fashion spread for Gucci—that was a big deal. I respect designers who aren’t afraid to go outside the box. I went to a Jean Paul Gaultier show, and I saw girls who are thicker than me, beautiful and voluptuous and different ethnicities. That made me so excited. I thought, Okay, I can work that, for sure.”
On the past year: “A year ago, I was very confused. Because he was my best friend. All of a sudden, one night changed our whole lives—not only our friendship, but our lives. I wanted to wake up one day and just not have that pain anymore. I wanted to be with him again or get over him—it was either-or. I just didn’t want to feel the pain, the confusion.”
…..On the Hot 97 Summer Jam 2010 Stage. As Ta*Sh was in attendance, Trey Songz performed a “panty dropper” for all his female fans. Through all the oohs and aahhs and grunting and groaning Trey was doing on stage to imitate some good sex lmao, I along with others became a 1 min groupie screaming at the top of our lungs. He even managed to kiss up on one of his fans, and caused another to pass out…
