Eva Marcille covers the latest issue of Obvious Magazine, the Men’s cover. This is the one year anniversary for Obvious and its the Reinvention Issue. Inside she talks about her getting married which will be in July 2010, how the proposal came to be, her acting in soap operas, why she has been on hiatus in the modeling game and more:
You’re been on hiatus from the modeling world for over a year, was this done purposely?
Eva: Actually, I haven’t taken a hiatus. I just haven’t pursued any modeling jobs. When I lived in New York, I beat the streets 8-9 times a day on auditions and had at least 2-3 jobs a week; every week. However, my focus in LA currently is acting. I’m the spokesperson for Cadillac and I still work with Proctor & Gamble, Ola, Avon to name a few. I still model and do spreads but right now it’s not my focus.

Nia Long covers the July issue of the UK magazine Pride. In her magazine interview, she gets questioned about Beyonce and her acting skills in the movie Obsessed. Here’s an excerpt on what she said:
I didn’t see ‘Obsessed,’ so I can’t comment, but it’s just not about how talented you are anymore. It’s about, ‘How much box-office revenue will this person generate?’ When you see certain people – we won’t name names – they just don’t have the skill, and no one in their team has said, ‘You need acting classes,’” Long replied.
“If you’re a singer not an actress, you should sing. If you’re a rapper, you should rap,” “If you take time to develop your craft, God bless you. Jamie Foxx is an example of both [actor and singer].”
hmm..what yall think??

Idris Elba shows his sexy appeal on the August issue of Essence Magazine. He talks about growing up, movie roles and more. The funny part is as I’m reading it, the writer who interviews him is so infatuated with him lol…
Still, I think there is a chance that what I am feeling, sitting across from Idris at a corner table in a restaurant in midtown Manhattan, is something else. Could it be that Idris and I have a special connection? And did I see a flicker in his eyes when he slid into his chair, glanced my way, and said in that charming British lilt of his, “Hello, what’s your name again?”

Kelis is ont he cover of the newest issue of Oyster Magazine. Oyster Magazine is an Australian magazine fashion magazine. She is pregnant in the cover but she is a lot smaller because the photo was taken when she was only a couple of months. I think she looks nice. Kelis reported on her Twitter that she is working on a new album, so I will keep you posted.

Entertainment Weekly did a special tribute issue to Michael Jackson by having him featured on 4 different covers. I guess you can say a different era of his career. And I’m so loving it right now. Get a copy if you can. (click to enlarge)

So everyone the word is out and it has been confirmed that VIBE Magazine is indeed shut down. Christina Milian and fiance The Dream cover the final Issue which I think is the July 09′ issue of the magazine. On the cover Milian goes topless to portray the 93′ Rolling Stone Magazine of Janet Jackson. Miss Info on the radio said VIBE intended on releasing a special tribute edition dedicated to Michael Jackson but because of their circumstances, they aren’t able to do it. Check out the Editor and Chief Danyel Smith’s message on the fold:
On behalf the VIBE CONTENT staff (the best in this business), it is with great sadness, and with heads held high, that we leave the building today. We were assigning and editing a Michael Jackson tribute issue when we got the news. It’s a tragic week in overall, but as the doors of VIBE Media Group close, on the eve of the magazine’s sixteenth anniversary, it’s a sad day for music, for hip hop in particular, and for the millions of readers and users who have loved and who continue to love the VIBE brand. We thank you, we have served you with joy, pride and excellence, and we will miss you.

Miss Info also posted a comment from Quincy Jones who started the magazine he claims he will bring it back.
“They just messed my magazine all up, but I’m gonna get it back. You better believe it, I’m’a take it online because print and all that stuff is over.”
Hmm we’ll see what happens.
Time Magazine had a special issue with Michael on the cover to commemorate his life and success as the entertainer we knew and loved. This magazine costs $5.99 and inside will feature special commentary from famous celebs in the music, sports, and political industry.

Madame Tussauds had a special memorial for MJ (though the statue looks like a female.) The event was on June 26 in Vegas.

Ciara covers the newest issue of Rap-Up Magazine. It seems liek they didn’t do a real photoshoot with her but they used a previus pick that she done already, I can’t remember if this was for her Fantasy Ride Album or not.

Rick Ross also gets the cover of the Summer Issue with Rap -Up. Maybe this is a double issue.

The pregnant Neffe and her mom Frankie cover the July issue of Sister 2 Sister Magazine. As we all know there were news about Neffe and Frankie possibly getting their own show, well I was re-reading S2S and Keyshia Cole says if she approves the show and be the executive director on it, and knows each story line then maybe, but as of right now its a no. The Way it is will not be coming back either Keyshia says she’s done with that, and she’s been done before the last season. It was just peer pressure that lead her to that one.
