Fresh from off the stage from last night in Vegas performing for the Billboard Music Awards, he flew straight to California to take the stand in his continuing battle and drama for child custody with his ex wife Tameka Foster-Raymond. There’s forces that are going on that I don’t think a lot of motherf-ckers that make music today are aware of,” he says. “It’s deep. I’ve felt it. I’ve felt other forces puling at me.” He stubs out his cigarette and leans toward me, taking my hand. “This is a very powerful medium that we are involved in,” he says gravely.” “I learned at an early age that what we were doing in the choir was just as important as the preacher. It was a ministry in itself. We could stir the pot, you know? The stage is our pulpit, and you can use all of the energy and that music and the lights and the colors and the sound. But you know, you’ve got to be careful.”
Being Misunderstood from the “Untitled” video
One time I got mad when a female threw money at me onstage, and that made me feel like f-cked-up, and I threw the money back at her. I was like, ‘I’m not a stripper.’
On the last day of the eight-month tour, Questlove says D’Angelo told him, “Yo, man, I cannot wait until this f-cking tour is over. I’m going to go in the woods, drink some hooch, grow a beard, and get fat.” Questlove thought he was joking. “I was like, ‘You’re a funny guy.’ And then it started to happen.That’s how much he wanted to distance himself.”
Most people think the ‘Untitled’ video was about sex, but my direction was completely opposite of that. It was about his grandmother’s cooking. Think of your grandmother’s greens, how it smelled in the kitchen. What did the yams and the fried chicken taste like? That’s what I want you to express.” The video may have looked like foreplay, but it was actually about family, Hunter insists-about intimacy.
Even though I am officially sick of this song that gets played non stop on the radio, the video has finally been released. Check out Take It To The Head. Video was directed by Colin Tilley.
Usher takes the stage in a top hat and tux to perform his pop single Scream for the Billboard Music Awards. I wished he would of performed the track I love “Lemme See” with Rick Ross lmao.
A new track gets released from the upcoming movie Sparkle. It is the last song recorded which was a duet with Jordin Sparks for the soundtrack of the movie in which both ladies star in the film. Listen to the uptempo track below.
What we’ve been all waiting for! Season two of the scripted drama series Single Ladies. The last season ended on a ‘want more” edge and they have given us just that with a preview into the season with the super trailer. Unfortunately Stacey Dash’s character will not return (by saying she will not be coming back from Milan) when that was one of the story lines I wanted to look into, but we have her replacement a new character which is just as good.
New season to premiere on Monday May 31st at 10pm.
If you weren’t able to tune in on last nights award show, Jordin Sparks and John Legend paid tribute to Whitney Houston singing some of her top songs like “I Will Always Love You and “The Greatest Love Of All”. The tribute ended with Bobbi Kristina acceptance speech saying a few words. Check out the beautiful tribute above.
Chris Brown has been doing a lot of Lipsyncing lately, is this song with the choreography to much to handle…? Sadly a lot of celebs like Pink and Joe Jonas called him out subliminally via twitter on his lip syncing:
Joe Jonas: What happened to people singing live???”
Pink: “One day if I lipsync, I hope I do it as well as him”
Anyways he did perform one of my favorite songs Turn Up The Music and did an excellent job and subliminally responded to the hating tweets by saying this: “Must be too bright outside! I’m finding the “shade” and keeping cool! Love and blessings!”
